Happy Shark Day! Hey Everyone, Mandy here ~ Today’s all about spreading awareness about shark conservation. As a fellow Canadian, I was so proud of the work that Rob Stewart was doing towards ocean conservation and how he was educating the public on a greatly misunderstood creature - the Shark. I was fascinated by his first film Sharkwater (2006), and basically pestered everyone around me to watch it, going so far as to buy hard copies to give to people as gifts (yes I’m one of those people). I did the same with his film Revolution (2012), and would probably have done the same with his final film Sharkwater: Extinction (2018) if there were any hard copies, but there aren’t any so all I can do is pester you all “Watch his films! It will change the way you look at sharks forever.” Sharks have been on this planet longer than most other species, the earliest known sharks dating back to more than 420 million years ago, with the modern-day sharks that we’re familiar with showi...

Studio: Sunrise  |  Released: 1996  |  Streaming on: Funimation Anime Review - The Vision of Escaflowne Hey Everyone, today we thought we'd talk about the anime The Vision of Escaflowne! Aside from InuYasha, another favourite of ours, the Vision of Escaflowne was one of the first Isekai animes we ever saw. But instead of travelling back in time like the former, our main protagonist Hitomi Kanzaki gets accidentally transported to a completely different planet called Gaea by a mysterious boy named Van Fanel, who just so happens to be the next King of a country called Fanelia. No “oh I learnt about this in history class” moments to help you here. So less Timeless and Outlander, and more Wizard of Oz. Granted Gaea isn’t much different from Earth in appearance, and neither are the main inhabitants who look exactly like earthlings, but its fauna and other inhabitants sure look different, seriously what is this? Porpoise Man? We love it! The creators of T...

Grab Your Inhalers and Tissues, Cause it's Asthma and Allergy Month Hey everyone, Mandy here! We thought we'd give Rosie a little break from Haru this month. Luckily May is all about Asthma and Allergies, something I feel pretty confident I can talk to you all about, as I deal with both of them on a regular basis. Who knew I'd get so much use out of my costume lol We're currently in the middle of spring here in Canada - Ah Spring, a time when everyone says goodbye to winter and welcomes back warmer weather, new life, and the returning greenery. Most people look forward to this season, but for us few who suffer from asthma and allergies it's a straight-up nightmare. Asthma and Allergies are basically the Crabbe and Goyle of immune system irritants, both are annoying to deal with, so if you can avoid them...

The Immune System ft. the Coronavirus There’s been a lot of talk about the Coronavirus  (aka. Covid19)  and germs and how to stay healthy in the middle of it all.
As someone who has a compromised immune system, I thought I could add a different perspective to this whole situation. Before we start I’d like it to be known that this post is in no way meant to add to the hysteria, the purpose is merely to inform and spread awareness in these uncertain times.
Panicking is the worst thing to do in these situations, so staying calm and keeping a cool head is priority number #1! This allows us to think clearly about what needs to be done. Now in most situations if you have a healthy immune system you should be fine, just  continue  to practice  good hygiene . The people who are most at risk ...
