Happy Shark Day! Hey Everyone, Mandy here ~ Today’s all about spreading awareness about shark conservation. As a fellow Canadian, I was so proud of the work that Rob Stewart was doing towards ocean conservation and how he was educating the public on a greatly misunderstood creature - the Shark. I was fascinated by his first film Sharkwater (2006), and basically pestered everyone around me to watch it, going so far as to buy hard copies to give to people as gifts (yes I’m one of those people). I did the same with his film Revolution (2012), and would probably have done the same with his final film Sharkwater: Extinction (2018) if there were any hard copies, but there aren’t any so all I can do is pester you all “Watch his films! Tricks and Treats     Halloween the spookiest day of the year, when the leaves start to fall off their bony branches, and the wind starts to howl. The one day a year when you can dress up as anything you wanna be!     In Last years’ comic Mandy dressed up as Batman declaring Justice has no gender and you can dress up as whoever you want. This prompted Rosie to want to dress up as the Flash the fastest person alive!     In this years’ comic we can see that she finally got to make her dream come true.  We can see her excitedly showing off how fast she is. Hey Everyone! It’s Rosie here ( ๑ > ◡ < ๑ ) You may have seen our previous comic “What are you barking at?” . In it we promised we’d share our second theory with you as to what we believe Zora, our furling, has been barking at. It will require some back story, so bear with us.   If you’ve read some of our other posts then you may already know I live with a few invisible chronic illnesses. It has definitely had its hurtles (good thing I was a fan of track & field). Some days it feels too hard to deal with; but throughout the years my sister Mandy has always tried to help me laugh about it and to look for the silver lining in things. She somehow always manages to find the best out of a bad situation. During one afternoon while we were watching TV, Zora scared us when she spontaneously started to furiously bark. Even after muting the TV we couldn’t hear anything, so we went to investigate what she could be barking at. She seemed to be particularly fixated in the dir...

If you have a furling you’ve in all likelihood experienced that terrifying moment (usually when its dark out and you’re home all alone) when your dog starts barking, and then when you look to see what’s causing it, there’s absolutely nothing there… We know we certainly have, especially with our furling Zora. We’re convinced it’s become a hobby of hers, that and collecting socks of course. We have a few theories as to why she does this, with two of them being at the forefront. One is that since we sometimes throw socks in her direction to distract her from her incessant barking, we think this might all be part of her ploy to acquire more socks for her ever growing collection, or theory number two there actually is something there after all 😱  “What?” you might be wondering, well we’ll reveal the answer next week in our next post. Let me just say Raptor Fans cheer the Hardest! Happy Hug Day Everyone! “ National Hug Holiday Day was created by the “Hugs for Health Foundation” for the belief that hugs, friendship and support are vital components to an overall health plan. Hugs promote a more positive outlook and enhance the quality of ones life.”  So make someone’s day and spread the love 😊 (Unless you’re uncomfortable with physical contact, then good vibes work too.) Behind the Comic : A while ago we were rewatching the Alien franchise when we came across a moment in the film that caused a reaction that we’re pretty sure the filmmakers probably had not intended and that was laughter. the scene we’re talking about is in the first Alien movie (1979) when the character Dallas is in the ships vents looking for the alien and finds it. When we saw this scene of the alien with its arms outstretched and opened wide all we could think was “Somebody just needs a hug”, and this is what inspired us for today’s comic. ~ Stay Obsessed

The Rejection is Strong with this One!     In our household Shippo is known as Mister Cuddles, while Zora is known as Little Miss Independent. She doesn’t ask for cuddles and is usually more content to sit by herself. She does barge into our rooms throughout the day to check on us though, which is about the extent of her showing concern and affection for us. It’s rare for her to want cuddles, usually she’ll only cuddle with you if she gets scared or she thinks that you’re asleep. We’ve been reduced to what we like to call “force cuddling”, which is basically us picking her up as she walks by and giving her cuddles. This is how Rosie has become dubbed as the “Smother Mother”.     Both Zora and Shippo were rescue dogs, and when we first got them they came to us with a lot of problems. One of the main ones was that they were unused to interacting with people. It took Zora nearly a year before she became comfortable being in the same room as people. The f...

    It’s that time of year again, where everyone is filled with a mixture of excitement and dread… it’s back to school time! Well not for us, but for some of you. Glad those days are behind us.     There is always that younger sibling though who can’t bear to be separated from their older sibling, thinking it to be unfair that they get to go to school and make new friends. Not yet realizing just how lucky they are that they get to stay at home. If anyone is wondering what Rosie was like as a child they have to look no further than at Mei from “My Neighbour Totoro” by Studio Ghibli. It’s actually what this comic was inspired by. Whenever we watch it it’s almost like seeing a flashback of our younger days, especially Rosie’s bobble-head and big mouth, which is why she got the nickname Chibi early on 😂     Stay Obsessed ~

I Can’t Feel My Hands When I’m Outside This is our Canadian Winter Parody comic of the song “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd. We did this comic a while back during a particularly harsh cold snap. To give you guys some back story Rosie has Raynauds Arthritis; basically in cold weather her hands turn purple and go numb, which in Canada means just about always. Hey Guys! Here’s Rosie as arguably one of the best video game characters of all time - LINK! with her furling Zora. Funny Story - So after we adopted Shippo and Zora we had to eventually register them with the city. This happens once a year when someone comes to each house in order to perform a Hydro water meter inspection. While here they will ask if there are any dogs or cats in your household that need to be registered.  Mandy and I, having no idea when they would drop by, were enthusiastically playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess on our new Wii system. We were just about to enter Castle Town when the doorbell rings. Immediately my 9Lbs pup is madly barking at the door like the guard dog she clearly thinks she is, but isn’t. We pause our game and awkwardly and unwillingly get up to answer the door.  Dun-Dun-Dun What do you know it’s the water meter inspector. Hey Guys! Hope you like our new comic of Mandy cosplaying as her favourite InuYasha character Sango, along with Shippo as himself... Yes our furling’s name is actually Shippo due to his fox tail and adorable snaggletooth, just like his namesake.
