Just Bought Our Otakuthon Tickets


We just purchased our tickets for this years’ 2017 Otakuthon convention and are really excited! It will be held at the Palais-des-Congrés again, from August 4th-6th. For those of you who don’t know what Otakuthon is, it’s a convention held in Montreal every Summer showcasing Japanese pop-culture such as Anime, Manga, Gaming, Cosplay, JPop and much more. It was started up in 2006 by the Otaku Anime club at Concordia University, and is now considered the 2nd largest Anime convention in Canada after Toronto’s Anime North.

Other than going for the sheer pleasure of seeing everyone’s amazing cosplays, the convention offers many events and rooms to check out as well, such as workshops, guest panels, karaoke, a maid cafe, an awesome masquerade, and our favourite the MERCH room! One thing we were delightfully surprised to find out is that Canadian YouTuber Tristan Gallant, better known as Arkada, will be a special guest this year. If you guys have never heard of him, we highly recommend checking out his YouTube channel Glass Reflection. He offers some of the best anime reviews around. Even if we don’t always agree with him, he offers excellent insight on characters and story. He is definitely always the first one we go to when needing a good anime suggestion.
