Custom Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

Hey Guys!

A few years ago while visiting London, England, we knew as Harry Potter fans that we needed to check out King’s Cross station and more specifically a neat little store there called Platform 9 3/4. I think we went there at least 3 times during our stay, each time picking up something new. Having some friends back home in Canada who were hardcore fans of Harry Potter we knew this would be the perfect place to pick up some fun souvenirs. While there we came across these great little wax seals with the Hogwarts logo imprinted on them. This made us think of the Acceptance Letters seen in the first Harry Potter movie & book. So of course we picked some of these up already thinking of the craft project potential. We also picked up some Hogwarts Express tickets - I mean whats better than getting tickets for Platform 9 3/4 from the actual King’s Cross station?!? Any fan will appreciate this little detail - at least our friends did 😄

After coming back home it was only a matter of opening up a copy of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and getting a description of the envelope and letters. We used Adobe Photoshop to design everything and then printed and put it all together from home. So guys, if we can do it so can you.

We later did some recon work to find out when our friends would be home from work or school, and made sure to deliver the letters before that [we didn’t want the envelops to be out for too long and risk getting damaged due to the elements]. Then we patiently waited at home hoping that they’d be surprised and that they’d figure out that the letters were from us. Luckily they did and they were ecstatic! Which was all we could have hoped for. One friend told us that it looked so legit she honestly thought for a moment it was real and that she was going to Hogwarts 😂 [this despite the fact that she was already 26 at the time, and would not have been getting a high school acceptance letter lol] hearing that made us super happy though, it was probably the highest compliment we could have gotten.

If you guys find yourselves in London we’d highly recommend going to King's Cross station and checking out the store Platform 9 3/4. Try to go when it’s not too busy, because that place fills up quick. Another must for any Harry Potter fan is visiting the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour. It’s incredible, but just make sure to stop by Gringotts Bank before you go. We’re not sure anyone can make it through their gigantic gift shop without their wallet taking a few hits.

If you guys have any questions about this project let us know in the comment section and we will try to get back to you as soon as possible!

    Stay Obsessed ~
