Who needs Dragons & Direwolves when you can have Raptors! Okay so the Excitement for The Finals is off the charts. We make a point of watching all the Toronto Raptor games together. Let me just say Raptor Fans cheer the Hardest! The energy from the fans can be felt across North America.   Quick little History lesson - 1995, was truly a magical year for Canada, they gained a true star that year! ME! Haha I’m Kidddinggg …Sorta
This was the year the NBA (National Basketball Association) introduced its first teams from outside the US and the league gained the Toronto Raptors.
The Team chose their mascot by inviting Canada to vote on a few potential candidates. After Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park had come out in 1993 it had managed to really capture the hearts of so many, even in 1995 it was still getting attention. This definitely had a huge influence on the Raptor Mascot being chosen. After they had a mascot they got their logo and jerseys made. The Raptor is sho...

Happy Hug Day Everyone! “ National Hug Holiday Day was created by the “Hugs for Health Foundation” for the belief that hugs, friendship and support are vital components to an overall health plan. Hugs promote a more positive outlook and enhance the quality of ones life.”  So make someone’s day and spread the love 😊 (Unless you’re uncomfortable with physical contact, then good vibes work too.) Behind the Comic : A while ago we were rewatching the Alien franchise when we came across a moment in the film that caused a reaction that we’re pretty sure the filmmakers probably had not intended and that was laughter. the scene we’re talking about is in the first Alien movie (1979) when the character Dallas is in the ships vents looking for the alien and finds it. When we saw this scene of the alien with its arms outstretched and opened wide all we could think was “Somebody just needs a hug”, and this is what inspired us for today’s comic. ~ Stay Obsessed

The Rejection is Strong with this One!     In our household Shippo is known as Mister Cuddles, while Zora is known as Little Miss Independent. She doesn’t ask for cuddles and is usually more content to sit by herself. She does barge into our rooms throughout the day to check on us though, which is about the extent of her showing concern and affection for us. It’s rare for her to want cuddles, usually she’ll only cuddle with you if she gets scared or she thinks that you’re asleep. We’ve been reduced to what we like to call “force cuddling”, which is basically us picking her up as she walks by and giving her cuddles. This is how Rosie has become dubbed as the “Smother Mother”.     Both Zora and Shippo were rescue dogs, and when we first got them they came to us with a lot of problems. One of the main ones was that they were unused to interacting with people. It took Zora nearly a year before she became comfortable being in the same room as people. The f...

We read a while back that they’re making a live-action adaptation of the hit anime movie “Your Name” by Makoto Shinkai, and all we can think is “Hollywood why are you doing this to us?” Why mess with a good thing?  We’re seriously getting sick and tired of Hollywood taking something phenomenal and deciding to remake it just so they can put their own spin on it. One could almost assume that this is happening because Your Name is now officially the highest-grossing anime film worldwide, having beaten out Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away who’s held the record since 2001.         We hope for the sake of the fans that the studio’s motives are driven by more than just the prospect of the monetary gain, because we’d hate to be stuck with another Dragonball Evolution.  We also hope that they understand that just because something does extremely well elsewhere that it does not mean that that success will carry over to here. There’s ...

In the past, for Halloween I always looked at my favourite female superheroes/antiheroes for inspiration like Catwoman, Rogue, Storm, or Raven, but not this year. This year I’m going as the Dark Knight, the Caped Crusader, the World's Greatest Detective, I’m Batman (if only in this comic).     Batman was always my favourite superhero of all time; he didn’t have any special powers, he had the best villains, and he had great sense of justice and detective skills. Also who doesn’t like a dark and brooding hero?   Happy Halloween!      Stay Obsessed ~

Anime Review: Eureka Seven     The Eureka Seven film series Hi-Evolution: Part 1 was just released September 16 2017, with Parts 2 & 3 to follow in 2018 and 2019. From what we understand it is supposed to take place before and during the events shown in the 2005-2006 TV series Eureka Seven. For anyone who was a fan of the original series this is exciting news. Perhaps we will finally get to learn more about our favourite characters and their backstories, and the major historical events that were only hinted at or glossed over. That would be great. Hopefully these new movies will finally give the fans what they’ve been waiting 11 years for.            And for anyone who might be new to anime or just hasn’t heard of Eureka Seven before this, here’s hoping we can change that, because this anime definitely deserves to be on people’s radars. So here we go!      The first thing we have to...
